Diligent tending of the wines, close attention to pruning and the energy latent in the earth itself have generated Ormanni Chianti Classico .

Vinification, carried out in traditional fashion, fermentation which is protracted for a period ranging from fifteen to twenty days, and pumping over the cap twice daily assure extremely soft tannins and a bouquet that is remarkably fruity and intense.

Chianti Classico Riserva
Ormanni Chianti Classico Riserva is made by traditional vinification of Sangiovese alone. The grapes are selected and picked by hand with the greatest care in our finest vineyards.

The wine is matured for about twelve months in Segain Moreau and Gambas Barriques of oak from the Allier that have been subjected to medium high levels of toasting. This period in woods softens the tannins contained in the grapes and permits the wine's bouquet to develope, in balanced fashion, great richness of vanilla aroma typical of wood ageing.

Bottling is carried out from six to eight months before the Riserva is released for sale to ensure that the wine's odour and flavour will acquire a rounded and harmonious quality.
Because of those characteristics, this well-structured wine, alone among one hundred others, has received the prestigious Decanter Award.

Master taster Giulio Gambelli and Paolo Brini Batacchi, an engineer who is the owner of the Tenuta Ormanni property and an expert on the qualities of the Merlot, Sangiovese and Syrah varieties, have created a Super Tuscan thet further enriches the estate's already formidable array of premium wines.

Step by step, Maestro Gambelli has personally assessed the soils and identified the zones where grapes should be collected and selected. He oversaw vinification and chose the barrels. That dedication and commitment have been rewarded by the creation of Julius, a name that Brini Batacchi family adopted in honour of its expert taster.

The grapes are selected by hand at the harvest and this Super Tuscan is vinified with the application of traditional methods. It is a testimonial to the value and character of the Brini Batacchi family's time-honoured approach to winemaking.

The higly agreeable combination of Sangiovese, Merlot, Syrah and maturation in barrique for eight to ten months exalt the special flavour of this exceptional vino da tavola.
